These heel cups were recommended to my 12 year old daughter for Sever's disease by a podiatrist. The condition is common among young athletes. Sever's is heel pain caused by the growth plate in the heel being pulled on by the Achilles tendon. The growth plate is not fused and therefore can become inflamed. The condition is self resolving (once she finishes growing it and the plate fuses she will no longer have pain). Therefore the treatment is in simply trying to alleviate the pain.

These heel cups help her significantly with the pain by lifting the heel a small amount so that the Achilles tendon is not pulling as hard on the growth plate and by cushioning the heel. We have tried at least a half dozen types of heel lifts and these work the best. Because she wants a pair in each shoe (especially soccer shoes) I wanted to get several more pairs. At the podiatrist they wanted 45 dollars for a pair so the sub ten dollar price here is a bargain.

If your child complains of pain in the heels (and if squeezing the rear portion of the heel from both sides at the same time results in pain) you may want to try these.

These are excellent, to say the least. I had a pair for years, and kept cleaning them over and over. I wanted to find a new pair, but never saw them anywhere in any pharmacy. I finally smartened up and looked through Amazon.com and found the company that made this product. I have a spur from a jogging accident in my Achilles heel, and I need something to put into my shoes daily. This is a most amazing product, and I do plan to purchase more for all my shoes. Also, great to know that it is American made.

My husband has heel spurs that flare up every now and then. The Tuli Heel Cups give him relief and after a few weeks he is able to dispense with wearing them altogether, until they flare up again. It has been several years since the last time he wore them. He has tried the gel cups but they do not work like these do. He swears by the Tuli's Heel Cups and recommends them to anyone who endures the pain of heel spurs.

  3. I have issues with a stone bruise on my heel, and these cups completely eliminate the problem. Dr Scholl's don't do it for me as they are too soft. This pair of heel cups was purchased to replace a four year old pair, so they are durable too.

I've been struggling with plantar fasciitis for several months. I read about Tuli heel cups in a magazine and decided to give them a try. I hardly feel them in my shoes, but the pain in much less since using them. I would definitely recommend them to others with foot pain.

  6. If you have narrow heels that seem to shift around in your shoes as you walk, these heel cups will stabilize them.

  7. These have REALLY helped my 9 year old who was diagnosed with Sever's Disease (bones growing faster than achilles tendon stretching)- she went from limping through soccer practice without them, to within a week getting back out and running with no pain at all. Our doctor also recommended we buy some Dr. Scholl's heel inserts to get the cushion effect - she wears those underneath the heel cups. She is able to slip on and off her shoes with the heel cups and inserts in them. If a 9 year old can do that, adults should have no problem! She also switches them between soccer shoes, softball shoes and normal running shoes all with ease. They've completely solved our problem!

  8. I purchased these after finding out by the doctor that my son grew too fast and had a gap in growth plate in his foot. He was in pain when he walked and they sell special molded placements for $1000 for your shoes. Of course the insurance company would not pay for, the doctor recommended these so I bought two pair and he wore them until the pain was gone. He even continued with soccer thanks to them. They are a life saver and prevented a broken growth plate.

  9. Im in the military so we have to do a lot of standing. I have severe heel pain and bone spurs and these work great. The price is great too. So I think before people rate this as a bad product they should realize that different things work for different people.
